Since 2015, I Am We Are (IAWA) has empowered youth in South Africa and the United States to “confidently own their future.” Through a fouryear programme focused on social-emotional learning (SEL), leadership, global awareness, and entrepreneurship, IAWA equips young people with the tools to complete school, pursue further education, and contribute to their communities.

In 2025, IAWA conducted a 10-Year Impact Assessment to evaluate outcomes and inform future programming. The study included surveys, focus groups, and interviews with alumni, parents, facilitators, and peers focussing on South Africa. The statistics below highlight just a few of our alumni achievements in education, personal growth, and civic engagement, showcasing the measurable impact of mentorship, leadership development, and holistic support. These outcomes demonstrate how sustained guidance and opportunity can transform lives and communities.
